Sim Review: Astrium

Astrium is a new sim that has just open up, I decided to check it out. I was already on the offence when seeing dnd 5e. I think sims that enforce dnd standards are limited and very boring.Thats just my opinion, cause if I wanted to play DnD it would not be in SL at all, I would play it either at an actual table or on discord. SL I go to build story of my own creations, not DnD standard races and race builds.

The sim is pretty, so good for photos, staff seems nice. However been to new sims with nice staff, that lasted about 2 weeks before true colors show, so I say give it 2 weeks to a month and see if they continue their friendly manner (which I have high hopes they do) I do have to admit that one staff member being on the ban list of most Roleplay sims is abit of a red flag for me, but given I don't know the reason I say it could be over look for one to forge their own opinion.

My biggest strike though is how they contradict themselves right off, they say they have open races which is a lie. Its not open race, its only if you play 5e DnD races or as they put 5e homebrew that meaning still has to be DnD. Thats not open race to me, also say no apps but require you to share your homebrew with them and therefore that is kinda an application in itself. So like maybe they should put in their description MUST BE DND BASED OR DND HOMEBREW ONLY. Cause lying is a huge pet peeve of mine.

I do love that they have a list of allowed dragon avi's, cause dragon avis can be laggy and just aweful. I do hate they only allow undead vampires, that again limits creations of imagination.

They do seem to get a steady traffic and if the sim is good, I do hope it continues to gain more traffic. I won't play there personally with my friends as my stories are not allowed, its too limited for my taste.

Also nothing about this sim says dark fantasy to me at all, it is very bright and cheery and fae like, kinda the opposite to dark fantasy types.Think that is more a ploy to be eye catching.

Another strike is allowing youth characters, I am sorry I just don't think kid avi's should be in Roleplay sims. Theres alot of red tape and rules to enforce with them around and its just a headache in my book.

I do love they want to incorporate political style roleplay, that can be hard to get started as its not a popular fave. Though I have had fun with such rp and I think it does help to build story. They do have a nice website set up, easy to navigate and such.

Its interesting and hopefully it can survive two months, as that seems to be the lasting way new sims are. Just for me its limited and its not really anything wowing, its a DnD sim thats it. Like meh, so if you like DnD in SL, then its your place, if not then maybe keep looking and hope a better one pops up.
