Review: Tavnoc
I went and tried to spend some rp time in this sim, it was how to put very trying and a fail. So lets start this review off.
Ok the sim is wonderfully built, it really is, and the underground tunnel system is one of the best I have ever scene. It truly was a wonderful idea, even the lycan home was a tunnel system and its huge tunnel system. Its great and has the perfect atmosphere for World of Darkness rp. However, it lacks rp. I could never find any and when I did I was ignored. Anytime after the two times I did see rp I would find alot of people popping ooc tags over their heads on and not a group tag mind you. They pop this on and plop down on a seat, or people going afk for long periods of time. Now we all know rl is first and it can call us away, but if its going to be longer then ten minutes, log off or park your avi off sim. For it is rude to rpers to keep it on sim,and going ooc on sim also kills the little rp they even have there.
Now I had ask in group chat about why it seems like everyone is ooc or afk on this sim. I did this to test admin skills also, a good admin will pull you to ims to avoid any negativaty or drama. This admin whom spoke to me did not do this, instead spoke down to me. The said and I quote well [insert name] is not and [insert name] is not ect. ect. I don't know what your talking about unless you just love to gross generalize people. unquote. I did not say this to be insulting it was a reasonable question. So I retorted with, well everytime I come to the sim it seems like everyone is either afk or has a ooc tag on. She then goes on to say well only people with ooc tags on are visitors and storytellers. Which was not true at all for I have seen players pop a ooc tag on and just sit on the sim. Also she said we allow people to go afk cause rl calls and yes it can call but to allow people to just afk for thirty minutes to an hour on rp areas takes from the rp and tends to make players less likely to stay in that sim.
Another issue is capping clans, now I know that if you have too many of one capping is understandable, but when you have two clans that have the same amount and you cap one and not the other, that makes no sense. If you cap one for having ten then you need to cap the other if they have ten. Another issue is when people are ic they have cliques and tend to ignore new people and also tend to hide in their hide outs. Atleast all the vampires do anyways, their either in the club or their in the hotel, rarely they are out and if they are don't bother to get a rp they just stay in their own or the few they like outside their own.
All in all this sim was very displeasing and not worth the trouble. Its nice for photo ops but rp, hell no. This is not a sim I would recommend to my VtM friends at all.
